Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Founder and Chairman of the Saudi Aviation Club, King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Engineering, is participating in the General Aviation Airshow 2025 “Sand and Fun,” taking place at Al-Thumamah Airport from November 25 to 29.

This year’s participation features a notable presence of 25 male and female students, who are showcasing a range of innovative projects and engineering prototypes at the university’s booth. The exhibits highlight students’ skills in aviation technologies, robotics, manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. The pavilion serves as an interactive space that reflects the students’ ability to translate scientific knowledge into practical, cutting-edge applications.

The Airshow has opened with a rich lineup of experiences that blend engagement and learning, featuring more than 90 professional aerial displays. Visitors are also enjoying static aircraft exhibits that provide insight into aviation design and engineering, in addition to interactive workshops and “Hangar Talks” that address the future of sustainable aviation and the latest technologies in the field.

Dr. Seraj Alzahrani, a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering, stated:

The university’s participation comes as part of the Faculty’s commitment to providing real-world learning opportunities that prepare students to lead the future of aviation and engineering in the Kingdom. We are proud of what they have achieved, and we remain dedicated to fostering every opportunity that enhances their skills and supports their innovation journey.”

University spokesperson Dr. Musaab Al-Harbi added:

The university’s participation reflects its ongoing efforts to empower students, expand their practical experience, and highlight their contributions in major national events. It also supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by developing national talent and advancing the Kingdom’s aviation sector.”
